There plenty free and paid Woocommerce themes on the internet. Today I’d like to review this hand picked minimalist Woocommerce theme and below I will explain why and its features.
You might be sick of generic designed e-commerce themes with standard layouts and look. Floris is different, evreything on Floris done with unique and stylish in mind. In meantime User experience and customers in mind.
Prehistory with Shopify
History of this theme is adventure. Firstly it was designed for Shopify marketplace. Shopify marketplace 1st demand is to submit unique layout theme for their premium theme store.
Me and Ruslan Siiz (he is well known UI/UX designer on Behance) accept this as another challenge. We put our best and submitted Floris design with unique e-commerce concept.
It was loved from first glance by Shopify moderators. Thought they asked us to make necessary changes. Those changes and tweeks took us few week to re-submit design several times. Finally it was accepted, but we were surprised that we can’t code it because they were changing their system, and we had to wait undefined period. Here is original email from moderator:
Thanks for addressing our concerns and resubmitting all those updates. We think the design of the theme is great, and would love to see it coded up. Keep in mind this does not yet guarantee acceptance to the Theme Store. Your theme will still need to pass our code review and settings evaluation.
However before we get deeper into that, there’s a bit of an issue currently with themes that we accept from third party theme devs. I’m not sure if you were at the Shopify‘s Unite conference: https://unite.shopify.com/
but if you were, you’re aware now of the pending change in the way Shopify themes will be coded. If you were not at the conference, there should be a video stream you can watch on the conference website in a few days.
The interval between now and when the update is finally released is going to be tricky for theme developers with recently accepted themes. There’s no firm date for the release as of yet, but hopefully in a few months. We want to be as transparent about this as possible, but there’s currently no documentation or specs that we can share with your right now to indicate how to go about coding in the new format. Because of this, we’d like to request that you hold off on submitting the coded up version until we’re ready on our end, at which point we can send you the info on how to proceed.

We didn’t wait Shopify to complete their migration, and began coding our theme for WooCommerce. And today we happy that we made right decision. Shopify styled theme for WooCommerce became unique. It has original Shopify concept and powered with Woocommerce features.
